Hebatalla Mohamed
Women's Zone
Once upon a time in 2018, I immigrated to Canada with my children. And immediately I realized the Hijab-wearing-women’s problem was to find elegant, comfortable, affordable price Hijab. And as a Hijab-Wearing-woman myself, I feel it’s my responsibility to provide this Hijab. I got to work building my Hijab brand while studying a business program for newcomer entrepreneurs and worked to open my business, the Women’s Zone Social Club, a clothing business and social club for women.
While entrepreneurship is my passion I also believe it is my responsibility to educate women about politics, anti-racism, and health. I have been active in the political scene and enjoy discussing local issues with politics.
Proudly I was selected to advocate for women in my province, New Brunswick, and appointed to the New Brunswick Women’s Council.
Andrew Holmes
Founder, Love Over It
Andrew Holmes (a father of two and a bi-racial man) is at his office in Saint John, New Brunswick Canada. After finishing his lunch he scrolls through his social media only to discover a video circulating that confirmed the unthinkable …
the horrifying effects of the George Floyd-related riots (which originated 2,800 KM to the West) started to spread into his, mostly peaceful, part of the world… and then hit him:
“If (and when) my children are faced with racism and bullying, what will I tell them?”
The answer…
Love Over It.
